Dismissal Reminders

For the safety of all our students, please make sure you have your pickup tag during dismissal each day.

Keep your tag visible until your child is safely with you or in your vehicle. This helps our staff quickly match students to the correct family and keeps our dismissal line running safe and smooth for everyone.

If you need a replacement tag, please contact the front office—we’re happy to help!

Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students safe every day!

Countdown to STAAR 2026

As we prepare for STAAR testing, your support at home makes a big difference! Here are a few simple ways to help your child feel confident and ready:

Get a Good Night’s Sleep
Make sure your child gets plenty of rest the night before testing. A well-rested brain helps with focus and problem-solving!

Eat a Healthy Breakfast
Start the day with a balanced meal (protein + whole grains) to fuel your child’s brain and keep energy levels steady.

Arrive On Time
Being at school on time helps your child start the day calm and ready—no rushing, no stress!

Plan Ahead for Testing Days
Please avoid scheduling appointments on STAAR testing days. It’s important for students to be present for the entire testing session.

Limit Early Pick-Ups
We strongly discourage early release during testing. If a student leaves before finishing, they will not be able to return and complete the test on another day.

Offer Encouragement
Remind your child to do their best—you can say things like:
“Take your time,”
“Read carefully,”
“You’ve got this!”

Practice Positive Test Habits
Encourage your child to:
  • Read each question carefully
  • Check their work
  • Use strategies they’ve learned in class

Keep It Positive
Avoid extra pressure—confidence and a calm mindset go a long way!

Learning to Lead Focus: Check Your Goal, Grow Your Goal
This week, students are learning how leaders don’t just set goals—they check in on them and make adjustments along the way. We are encouraging students to reflect on their progress by asking, “Am I making progress, or do I need to adjust my plan?”
Students are practicing three ways to keep growing:
  • Adding a new action step
  • Attaching evidence of their progress
  • Editing their plan when needed

How families can support at home:
  • Ask your child: What goal are you working on right now?
  • Talk about progress: What’s going well? What’s challenging?
  • Encourage problem-solving: What’s one small step you can take next?
  • Celebrate effort and growth, not just the final result

By working together, we can help our students build strong habits of reflection, responsibility, and continuous growth!

Henrie House Update

Our final 9 weeks is well underway, and students have been working hard to earn points for their houses! This quarter, our focus is embracing diversity. That means celebrating what makes each of us unique and learning from one another.
Students can earn points by:
  • Focusing on the strengths of others
  • Being uniquely themselves
  • Appreciating differences
  • Staying positive and enjoying life

We are so proud of the way our students are showing kindness, respect, and leadership each day!

Check out the current house point standings below, along with our top students from last week. Keep up the great work—let’s finish the year strong!

PTO Update

Henrie's PTO is always looking for parents and guardians who want to get involved and make a difference on our campus. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available, including shelving books in the library, helping teachers create fun and engaging hallway displays, and assisting with campus sales. The list of ways to help continues to grow, and there is truly something for everyone.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please use our SignUpGenius link to see current opportunities and sign up. We appreciate your support and love partnering with our families to make our school an even better place for our students.
