Weekly Update

This week was full of exciting moments on campus. Students participated in Amazing Shake practice, sharpening their communication and confidence skills, Destination Imagination teams worked on preparing for their upcoming competition and choir students continued working hard during rehearsal. Across classrooms, students were actively engaged in learning stations that encouraged collaboration, problem solving, and hands-on learning. We also celebrated academic growth with a fun iReady reward when students who met their stretch goals earned the chance to pie Mrs. Fulenwider in the face. To top it all off, we were proud to announce our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Braswell.

As we move through the season of unpredictable weather, please know the district is closely monitoring conditions. Any announcements regarding school delays or closures will be shared using the contact information listed in Skyward and posted on the district’s website and social media pages.

Be sure to follow us on Facebook to see photos from the week and stay up to date on campus news and events.

Thank you for staying informed and taking time to prepare as temperatures drop. We’ll continue to monitor conditions and communicate as needed.

Attendance Update

Regular attendance plays a huge role in student success. When students are at school each day and arrive on time, they don’t miss valuable instruction, routines, and opportunities to learn alongside their classmates. We truly appreciate your partnership in helping our students build strong attendance habits.

Be sure to check out the video we’ve posted highlighting our January Attendance Swag and celebrating the fun incentives students can earn for showing up and being on time.

You’ll also see flyers recognizing our top attendance and most on-time classes. We are so proud of the hard work our students and teachers are putting in, and we can’t wait to see even more classes shine next month!

Thank you for helping us make every day count at school!

Leadership & Empowerment Team

We believe leadership lives within every student, and our Leadership and Empowerment Team is dedicated to helping that potential thrive. Through impactful initiatives like the Mesquite Promise and the Emerging Leaders program, we empower students and engage the community to be difference makers, cultivating a strong sense of dignity, belonging, and excellence.

Our mission is to equip students with the confidence, character, and capacity to lead in their schools, communities, and beyond.

Weekly House Update

Our House Point scoreboard is heating up, and our students continue to show what it means to lead, work hard, and support one another! As of this week, Rispetto is in the lead with 5,821 points, followed closely by Determinat with 5,239 points. Amistad has earned 4,466 points, and Coraggio is right behind with 4,389 points. Way to go, Houses!

We also want to recognize our top point-earning students from last week:
  • Liliana M. – Amistad
  • Gracie O. – Rispetto
  • Joshua V. – Coraggio

We are so proud of these students for demonstrating positive behavior, leadership, and commitment to our campus expectations. Keep earning those points, everyone—every choice counts!
