“How do you inspire and encourage your students to live out the Mesquite Promise in their daily lives?”
Principal Selena Bastidas: As a principal and community member, I inspire and encourage my students to live out the Mesquite Promise by modeling it in my own words and actions every day. I remind students that they are valued members of our school family and community, and I provide daily opportunities for them to practice dignity, belonging, and responsibility through the choices they make. Whether it’s celebrating their successes, teaching them how to support one another, or guiding them to see mistakes as learning opportunities, I help them recognize that the Mesquite Promise is not just something we say at school—it’s a way of living that strengthens our entire community.

Happy Principals Month!
“How do you inspire and encourage your students to live out the Mesquite Promise in their daily lives?”
Assistant Principal Ms. Jones: I live out the Mesquite Promise by greeting students and staff with a smile, giving hugs in the hallways, and helping students, especially those struggling—problem-solve with care. Through visibility, encouragement, and maintaining a positive outlook I remind everyone they belong, they matter, and Together We Rise.
